Most new years aren't a big deal for me. Mostly I am just happy to get the Christmas decorations put away quickly and continue on with a little less hectic life. This year has been different. I have been so excited for this year and the things I hope to accomplish. I have been listening to a program that is helping me be more organized and accomplish the goals I have set out to do. It's going well. Of course there are always hiccups, but I am looking for progress not perfection. Oh, and the Christmas decorations were not put away quickly this year.
What else is going on with me (more about the rest of my family below)? I am busy teaching classes at 24 Hour Fitness. I am very involved in Nathan's schooling. I love spending time with Dr. Sewell when he is off, and I enjoy spending time with Noelle during her last year and a half before kindergarten. I hope to apply for school this year to get my Master's in Occupational Therapy. I have made some really good friends here too.
Jeremy is quite busy working 50 hour work weeks for Pacific Dental Services. He is well liked, and even though he is a rookie, assistants, hygienist and other newer doctors are considering him the new go to quarterback for the team. Upper management likes him even more than that. When he is not busy being 'that guy no one wants to see' he spends time helping me with the kids, spoiling me and exercising. It is taking him a bit longer to get comfortable in California, but I think it is finally starting to feel like home.
Nathan is a busy first grader. He has had some challenges over the past year, but we are working hard to get school just right for him. The charter school he attends is amazing with him and all the students. They are so flexible and willing to do whatever to help each child be in an environment that fosters learning. Because of that, Nathan is excelling in most areas of study. He is reading way beyond his age, is quick with math, and loves to create. He wants to be a photographer, and we bought him a camera for Christmas. He goes around taking pictures of everything. I have concluded that he is definitely a visual person. Nathan adores his mama, and I am cherishing these moments because I know that in the not too far future, he will be running from my kisses and hugs. It just won't be cool.
Noelle has really come out of her shy shell this past year. Of course, our family is so social, she almost had no choice. She continues to love everything girly; barbie dolls, dresses, tea parties, dance classes, etc. However she is not afraid to get dirty or rough and tough. In fact, she prefers the outdoors. I like to say she is the girl who puts on the prettiest dress to go play outside in the dirt. The perfect balance. Can I just say this girl loves to talk? Seriously, talk and sing and talk and sing and talk. There are not too many quiet moments around the Sewell house. I am guessing most of you didn't think so anyway.
Well, I hope you all are well. I was looking at some of your blogs, and well, I am not the only one who doesn't blog like they used to do. Life is just so busy. I do have a health blog that I get to a little more frequently than this one. susie4health.blogspot.com You can always find me on Facebook too.
Our family wishes the best to you in 2011.
